Chief Deputy Michael R. Powell

Michael R. Powell began his law enforcement career in 1980 after completing his training at TCCC Regional Police Academy.  he continued his training receiving his Masters Peace officers license in 2005, he also achieved his State Jail License in 2004, becoming a duel certified officer.  Michael is forth generation peace officer following in the footsteps of his great grandfather William Watson Davis who served with the Cleburne Police Department prior to serving with the Harris County Sheriff's Department.

Grandfather, C.W. Davis also served several years with Harris County, two uncles with many years in law enforcement and his sister Commander Cindy Aaron, who is still serving close to 30 years with Burleson Police Department.  Prior to joining Johnson County Sheriff Bob Alford in 1997, Michael served with Joshua Police Department, Forrest Hill Police Department and Johnson County Precinct 3 constables office.  His experience includes Patrol, Motorcycle traffic detail, advanced accident investigation, civil process service, drug interdiction, mounted patrol, crowd control and warrant service.

Michael is a life long Johnson County residence who has shown a commitment to public service through 27 years volunteering with local youth athletic programs, youth ministries, Children's Advocacy Center and serving as called to assist in projects intended to improve the safety, security and quality of life for our community
